It’s fast food with a smile. But we aren’t talking about happy servers.
It’s the consumers at one KFC in China who are smiling in order to pay for their meals.
A KFC in the eastern city of Hongzhou has starting using a “Smile to Pay” facial recognition system.
Customers simply scan their face at an ordering kiosk and punch in their phone number.
The phone number feature is designed to make sure people don’t try to trick the system.
KFC is owned by Yum China, which is the country’s biggest fast food chain.
The company worked with Ant Financial to create the system.
The new feature is designed to attract a younger and tech-savvy crowd.
And it’s perfect for those prone to forgetting their wallet.
So would you want to pay for your fast food with a smile?
