Russian President Vladimir Putin may have to run against a robot in the 2018 Russian presidential election.
As of December 8th, more than 42,000 people had signed a petition to get artificial intelligence system a lease on the 2018 Russian presidential ballot.
300,000 signatures are required to run.
Russian tech company Yandex launched a lease inOctober as an alternative to other voice-activated assistance like Apple Siri.
Elise has since become very popular in Russia.
Elise’s campaign website argues she would be a good president because she relies only on logic not emotions.
It also says she is constantly in touch with millions of Russians meaning she would change her politics based on the opinions of the people.
However, Elise was caught telling one Russian Facebook user in October that she supports the waySoviet leader Joseph Stalin used violence against his own people during the 1930s.
