Panic in the streets of central Melbourne on a busy Thursday afternoon.
Witnesses say an SUV accelerated into a crowd of Christmas shoppers during rush hour.
It happened in the city’s central business district just after 4:30 local time.
The area is close to Melbourne ’s main train station.
Victoria’s State Police say the driver was wrestled to the ground and handcuffed after his car crashed and came to a stop. A second man was also arrested.
