China is banning luxury toilets

At a conference on Monday January 8th, the country’s head of tourism called for the authoritative stop building so-called 5-star public restrooms.

The Chinese government launched a toilet revolutionin 2015 in an effort to make public restrooms more accessible and improve sanitation along major highways and scenic areas.

Soon after, restrooms equipped with amenities such as Wi-Fi, charging stations and ATMs started popping up.
