Liam Royal, a 23 year old from Echols on holiday, he claimed to have really bad food poisoning.
He wasn’t in bed sick, he was very much on his feet. Gangnam style.
His claim was as dodgy as his dance moves, it cost him 6000 pounds after a court hearing.
Well this shows that if you make a false claim for being sick while on holiday,
not only might your holiday photos go a bit more a bit further than you first expected, you also face really large cost.
It happened in Cyprus and it was his girlfriend that sent in photos and that incriminating dance video disproving his claim.
She’s now his ex.
Saying you were unwell might seem like a great way to get yourself a free holiday but this latest case shows it can end up costing you an awful lot more.
And today lawyers for the travel industry gave ITVNews information on around 2,500 resolved holiday sickness claims only tiny fraction 60 resulted in compensation payouts.
Based on their findings, they say only one in 40 claims is genuine.
As for this holiday maker, he may not feel like dancing today but he may feel genuinely sick.
