Now with the United States and China threatening to impose similarly-sized tariffs on July 6th，many speculate with the time difference between the two countries, China’s tariffs on US imports could take effect earlier.
However, China has denied that it will strike first, insisting it will not apply tariffs before any move by Washington.
According to a statement by the Chinese FinanceMinistry on Wednesday,
China will not fire the first shot and will not implement tariff measures ahead of the United States doing so.
The U.S. plans to implement a 25% tariff on 34 billion dollars worth of Chinese exports on Friday.
