Photographer Jason Weingart travels thousands of miles every year
in search of the most beautiful and dramatic landscapes to capture.
Over the many stunning images he takes,
he is perhaps best known for his incredible photographs and films of some of America’s most dramatic weather systems.
Using high resolution forecast models to try and predict where and when a storm will hit,
he travels across the country to settle in and watch as the clouds approach.
In the last year alone, Jason has witnessed some of the most incredible and unique storms,
including a supercell that formed over Dodge City in Kansas last May.
The storm produced at least eight different tornados as it passed him by
and what Jason now thinks of as the most memorable storm he has ever witnessed.
Some of the other images he was able to capture were: a number of different mesocyclones.
Different types of lightning from staccato, triggered and positive to bolts from the blue and spider lightning.
Some breathtaking cloud formations.
As well as this stunning photo of a double rainbow in Kansas.
Although the process may prove tricky as storms form in unpredictable and often dangerous ways,
Jason continues to produce stunning footage of America’s most tempestuous weather.
