The U.S. presidential victory of Donald Trump sparked a lot of reactions and opinions from around the world.
And now we are hearing from Pope Francis.
In an interview with the Italian daily newspaper " La Repubblica", published on Friday,Nov.11th,the leader of the catholic church said he is only interested in the impact of politicians’choices on the poor.
Francis declined to pass judgment on the billionaire’s victory,saying “I only want to understand what suffering their behavior causes to the poor and the excluded."
However,earlier this year,the pope said Trump’s promise to build a wall along the U.S-Mexican border was not the christian thing to do.
In the interview Friday, Pope Francis mentioned refugees and migrants as his greatest concerns right now,adding “we must knock down the walls that divide ."
